The (fashion his)story of the Kimono goes way back. The kimono, from a Japanese original to the wardrobes of early 20th century’s avant-garde. And every time our inner cravings to travel, explore and wander comes back to it’s surface, the kimono finds her way back into our hearts. Recalling the late 60s / early 70s, where the wandering gypsies & bohemian groupies wore clothing that represented the idea of freedom. During this period the kimono became a more flowy and psychedelic version of it’s original… Last years we have seen her slowly conquer our hearts again. Which perfectly makes sense when you consider our insane but yet so much loved desire to explore temporary new mini worlds. Yes, I am talking about festivals. Off course, the high street chains recognized the kimono love, which resulted in an overdose of cheap designs from the far far east. Ironic, don’t you think?! I only settle for the best and prettiest. The originals. Those who are made with love. The ones that will last untill our next wandering state of mind.
